The bad news: tonight’s episode does not maintain the high standard put up by last week’s episode. The good news: that bar was pretty damned high, so even falling short this was a very enjoyable episode, with some nice twists and more than a few surprises. Click through for my complete review.

Best episode ever? If not, I’d have to firmly place this in my top two or three, right up there with last season’s premiere and follow-up. After last week’s relatively slow start (albeit with the sudden tension of the mysterious air horn at the very end), I was wondering how long it would take Gimple and co. to ramp things up in this sixth season. Wonder no more: things just got a lot hotter in Alexandria. Click through for my full review.

Comic Con is up to its usual tricks, giving us all kinds of cool news and trailers for upcoming geekery. This morning’s panel on The Walking Dead saw the release of a heavy-weight trailer for Season 6, weighing in at a massive four-plus minutes – which makes sense, when you realize that the season premiere will be 90-minutes long, just like last season’s finale. Click through for the trailer and some commentary on what it reveals heading into October 11th’s release date.

Two episodes to go, and a couple of real cliff-hangers left over from last week’s episode, means that we should be in for a tense and action-filled show this Sunday. In one of the clips below, there are several freshly dug graves – who’s in them? Click through for preview videos, and my ideas on what’s going to happen this week.

With strong reservations, Rick and the crew decided to follow Aaron to Alexandria last week, with some – such as Maggie and Michonne – being in favor of following Aaron, and others – Rick, Carol, Daryl – being less enthusiastic. But although they do have their differences within the group, there’s one thing for certain: when Rick refers to the group as his family, he means it with all his heart, and there better not be anyone looking to mess with them. So now that they’ve arrived at the gates of the Alexandria Safe Zone (as it is called in the comics), is this going to be Rick’s Ithaca? Or is his voyage not truly complete yet?

Episode: 511

Last week saw the group at their absolute nadir, with the deaths of two mainstays happening in short order, and both water and food running out as they head north. Just as it looked like tension and desperation would break the group apart, we got a wonderful moment of bonding as they worked together to hold the barn doors against both nature and a horde of walkers. But the real stunner was the in the close – who is this Mr. All-American hiker dude? Is Aaron good, bad, or indifferent? And what – or who – has he been eating to look so healthy? Click through for my review of tonight’s episode, where we may get answers to all or none of these questions.
